I admit I was very skeptical and hoped he wouldn't be disappointed. I played it off like they were my ...I ordered these for my husband for his birthday. I admit I was very skeptical and hoped he wouldn't be disappointed. I played it off like they were my sun glasses and there was something on the lens I couldn't get off. He ended up putting them on to see what I was talking about and all of a sudden got very emotional! My house is surrounded by trees full of green leaves! On our way to lunch he was pointing out signs, buildings etc that had green or red on them. Extremely pleased with the product! My husband's response was priceless! Ordering a pair for my daughters boyfriend. He has problems with red/green. I bought these for my 31 year old son, who is color blind to red and green. All I can say to Pilestone is THANK YOU!! I wish I had videotaped my son putting them on for the first time; it brought me to tears to see the expression on his face and to watch him walk (almost running) around in astonishment at the vibrance and colors he was seeing. It was as if he was seeing the home he grew up in for the very first time, and couldn't get to everything fast enough to see it in color. Like a blind man that had been healed.When he looked at the flowers I had planted in the garden, he said, "I always thought these were purple flowers, and now I see they are as red as a fire truck." And when he saw my mud boots on the porch, he said, "Mom, your boots are SO red," and he laughed. For a patriotic man, who we always said "bleeds red-white-and-blue," and whose color blindness kept him out of what he really wanted to do in the Marines, I watched him as he stood for a very long time looking at the American Flag in awe and with tears.When he went home, he showed his wife. She texted me awhile later and said, "Now he finally sees I really did paint the walls a barn red color and not pink, like we argued about all these years."I always prayed that someday he would be able to see how vibrant and beautiful this world really is. The smile on his face when wearing these glasses on is priceless. These glasses were an answer to my prayers. Thank you so much for a wonderful product!5Passing Multiple Colorblind Tests with Pilestone TP-012 Glasses! 8 Test Results below! (Scroll down in the description).We ordered Pilestone TP-012 glasses for our colorblind son. We had no idea what to expect. His immediate reaction when putting them on was "everything is red", and we thought that we did not get lucky in finding something that worked for him. But after just a couple minutes adjusting to them, he refused to take them off.We went for a walk around Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America, figuring it would be a colorful place to take them for a test run. He was definitely able to identify and differentiate between more colors than he ever had before putting on the glasses. Many Greens were not brown anymore. Reds were more vibrant and some browns were now correctly identified as red! The violets/purples were definitely a big surprise. Until putting on the glasses, everything "purple" was blue to him! He just stared at the purple energy drink can we had in the car on the way to the mall in amazement, trying to figure out how that was possible.When we returned home, we decided to try a colorblind test provided by "the other guys". I had read in a few places that these kinds of glasses don't really help with testing, but decided to try anyway just for fun.In the end we ran this test 8 times. 4 times with the glasses off, and 4 times with the glasses on. Alternating back and forth. This video linked shows tests 7 and 8. The tests were run under slightly different scenarios as described next to each test.The PC monitors/Television were freshly calibrated with a Spyder Elite 4 - not sure if this is required, but certainly don't think it could hurt. I wanted the best color reproduction I could get.Here were the results:Testing with the glasses OFF:Test 1 - Strong Deutan (On a different PC and monitor than shown in the linked video)Test 3 - Strong Deutan (This television with lights in the room turned on)Test 5 - Moderate Deutan (We turned off all lights in the room for this one - and I think this helped)Test 7 - EXTREME Deutan (This is the test from the linked video - and lights in the room were back on)Testing with the glasses ON:Test 2 - Normal Color Vision (On a different PC and monitor than shown in the linked video)Test 4 - Normal Color Vision (This television with lights in the room turned on)Test 6 - Normal Color Vision (All lights in the room turned off)Test 8 - Normal Color Vision (This is the test shown in the linked video - and lights in the room were turned back on)The room lighting certainly affected his naked eye perception a bit, but all proved that he had some green colorblindness.With the glasses on, he passed the test. Every. Single. Time.I had always been curious about these types of glasses I had seen videos of online, but also a bit skeptical. Pilestone's offering at a price that didn't break the bank convinced me to at least see if they could help. In the end, we are certainly glad we made the investment. There are many types of colorblindness, and these may not help everyone, but for our son, these are definitely winners!The only "con" I see is the red tint. I am not sure if this can be improved in the future, but if you wear the glasses for a couple minutes, your eyes do adjust and ignore it. In the end, if it can help you identify more colors, it is a good thing.5Ah well...My husband is red/green color blind. I have wished he could see the amazing array of colors in the world. I purchased these as a Valentine s Day gift. Unfortunately, they made very little difference. He said that colors weren t different- maybe a little brighter. He was probably saying that to make me feel better. I will be returning these.1Just watch the video! Where do I even begin? First, I want to make it clear that I shop Amazon for everything and I was not paid anything, given any discount, or and free product for this review. This review is 100% true and heartfelt. I bought these for my husband for his 49th birthday. He is red/green deficient. We had a surprise family dinner because everyone wanted to be there to see him put them on for the first time. I was so nervous and scared that they wouldn t work.I recorded him opening them and his emotions were palpable. This is the first time he s ever seen colors the way they were meant to be seen. He said I can t wait to see my first rainbow . We were all in tears as he took in the world around him. His mother brought the balloons so he could see the bright colors.I drove us home and he was amazed at signs for different businesses that he passes every single day, but never truly saw. We got home and as I pulled in to the garage his eyes filled with tears again. He said everything is so much brighter! . He got out of the car and looked at his USMC bootcamp pictures on the wall and became so emotional.It was time to walk into the house and he said I can t wait to see the dogs! So we open the door. He yells CARL!!! Omg! You have so much more color then I thought you did! And the emotions took over again.I know these are not guaranteed to work for everyone, but I promise you it is worth a try. Thank you Pilestone for bringing all the colors to my husbands world!5The seller will give you $20.00 for a good feed back.I am red-green color blind, Everything turns red, I see no help at all , Things look better with out the glasses. The blue sky turns reddish blue. I am sending them back to Amazon. Sorry I do not like to send things back. The picture is the paper that comes with the Glasses, So that tells you something.1Work OK, but not a miracleBought these as a birthday present for my husband. He likes them, and, taking a color-blindness test, they dropped him from extreme deutan without glasses to mild deutan with them (he was medium deutan when he wore my polarized sunglasses by accident). I do think it's worth noting that they came with a note offering $20 for good reviews, which feels a little dishonest and makes me skeptical of the high number of reviews that make them sound miraculous. To be fair, they might work better for someone who was not so strongly deutan, but there's a chance some of the reviews are exaggerated in exchange for $20. Overall, worth a shot if you're red-green colorblind and want things to look more crisp and distinct and see a slightly improved range. Nobody cried or anything.4The best thing I ever bought! The video says it all!5Genuinely happy with results!I bought these for my red/green, moderately colorblind son. He is 11 and and had very high hopes so I really didn't want him to be disappointed! His reaction was incredibly genuine and emotional...we were all moved. He has had them for 4 days and wears them all day in school as well as outside! He first got them outside and was immediately gushing over the greens saying how beautiful our world is and how he has missed out. Then as we drove to dinner, he pointed out all the red signs everywhere he always thought were brown! Then at the restaurant, a man at a table across from us said "I have those glasses!" He was probably in his 50's and he and my son continued to talk about all the new colors they saw. He said he was probably going to buy more to have one at work as well. It was a huge coincidence to be sitting next to him and that he recognized them (but of course, my son couldn't talk about everything he was seeing!!). The next evening we had a thunderstorm so I took Matthew outside in hopes of seeing a rainbow. He always thought rainbows were just shades of blue. I have included a photo of him looking at the rainbow. I understand from reviews that these aren't equally effective for everyone, but at this price, one would be wrong not to try them. Some colors Matthew was not spot on with, but when he would ask me what color is this? I would say, I'm not telling you, you tell me. Then he would say brown, or dark green without the glasses, and red with them. We did not feed him the answers so I know these do help and work with much color detection.5The look of the glasses are nice, howeverThe look of the glasses are nice, however, I had three different color blind people try them out with no earth shattering effect. They have a red tone to the lens so it definitely can t be used indoors without making everything cast with red. Outdoors, none of the three could tell any difference.1
