Not Himalayan Salt as advertised...Looks like white sea salt, and its not course.I purchased this stuff looking to refill my grinder with course Himalayan salt (see photo). What I got was this bag of white salt with a few slightly pink crystals. Not at all what was expected and not what is represented on Amazon.Not sure why Amazon allows this kind of misrepresentation on products. It is not Course Pink Himalayan Salt as stated.1If you are expecting pink Himalayan salt be prepared to be disappointed.I was expecting pink salt. I got white salt with a couple pale pink here or there. It looks more like sea salt than Himalayan salt. Wont return since shipping is half the cost of the item.1Pink and Coarse... and non-GMOI noticed that the top reviews for this product were from a couple of years ago, so I wanted to add a more recent review for consideration. If you find it helpful, please click the "Helpful" button so it (eventually) appears in the "Top Reviews" list for this product.--------A picture says a thousand words, so take a look at the attached picture.Color - The salt is pink. It was bought a couple of months ago and has been sitting on a shelf and there's no apparent loss in color.Coarseness - The salt is coarse. A lot of the pieces are larger than the whole black peppercorns in the pepper grinder.Taste - The salt doesn't taste "saltier" than normal table salt. It's salt. The pink color does come from trace elements, so it might have a different flavor than table salt (which is highly processed and contains additives like iodine and anti-clumping agents), but it didn't taste any "saltier" in my highly non-scientific taste test.NOTE: The salt/pepper grinders, firepit, hot tub, and patio do not come with the salt. I could've used a picture of the salt taken in my kitchen, but taking a cue from the marketing world, I ended up using something that was visually appealing yet entirely non-practical - I don't normally leave my salt outside. Really.Speaking of marketing...When I had purchased the salt, the product description listed it as "Non-GMO". It's also shown on the packaging as "Non-GMO". It's nice to know that the salt hasn't been genetically modified, but I prefer my salt to be "Free Range" and "Non-BPA" as well. To be honest, and please don't hate, I think hunting wild salt results in the best tasting salt. If you do go that route, please be aware that Pink Himalayan Salt spooks easier than other salts. You'll need to rub salt all over your body to mask your smell, as well as approach from downwind.Also if you take a look at the ingredient list on the back of the package, you'll notice that the salt has 0% fat and 0% carbs. Just in case you were worried about the fat and carbs content in your salt.TL;DR - Good quality salt. Good value. Would buy again. Unless I bag a big one next time I go salt hunting.4Something is differentI ve ordered this salt back on Feb 2017 and it was exactly what I was looking for, pink Himalayan salts. This time it seems to be more white than before. It s still course like before. In the picture I have told old salt next to the new bag. Hmmm3Be AwareIf you get what you pay for then its great but if you get something different then it sucks, I ordered one Himalayan Pink Coarse Salt and it was perfect just as described in the listing and the same as the photo posted and so I decided to reorder and then I received a very different tiny non-coarse non-pink salt with my second order, the more whitish non coarse salt has a date in the back of the bag and the Himalayan Pink Coarse Salt does not have a date anywhere, the packaging is the same but as the pictures show you can clearly see the difference in the color and coarse / non-coarse bags of salt. I wanted to make buyers aware you may not get what's listed or posted with the photo every time.3Turned solid white quite quickly, do not trust it!This salt has never been open. I keep my 2 salts which I blend, in the refrigerator. This salt has gone from pink to completely white and I do not trust it. The salt I bought previously is still a nice pink color and had been refrigerated for about a year, but I am about out of that one. I just repurchased my old brand. I rarely have a bad comment about a product but this is a food product! You may want to go with "The Spice lab" brand. I intend to keep using this particular product.1Not Himalayan salt.This salt is white with a minuscule trace of pink. It claims to be Himilayan salt but in print so small you need a magnifying glass to see it, it states 'Product of USA'. I will be purchasing Himalayan Pink Salt directly from an organic store, where I can see it in person. I saw specks of pink in my bag.
