Great handle for my caneGreat quality and great value. If you are replacing the handle on a standard 3/4 inch metal cane as I've pictured, this is enough to do THREE of them, so @ $3.07 that's just about a dollar each... can't beat that!! It was a little hard to slip on, so I used a little isopropyl alcohol to lubricate it and it worked great and evaporated in about a minute. Soap would work too I'm sure. And I received it in a day! I can't speak for the durability yet, but it feels like good quality. At this price, I'm getting another before the inevitable price hike.5works perfectlyOne of the drawbacks of using a light metal cane instead of a solid ornate wooden one, is that the foam rubber handle cover can take a lot of abuse even just with standard everyday use, and can over time dry out crack and tear depending on how it is stored; the metal cane is still fine, but the absence of the handle cover can cause pain stress and skin irritation as the handle cover degrades. That is what these handle replacements are for, to get your cane back into working order- and they work great, not too thick that you can't maintain your grip...and a bit longer than the ones sold in the past, if you want to get a slightly different grip on your cane. To use it, make sure the old cover is completely gone..and your cane handle is down to bare metal. Then you merely insert the foam tube onto the tip of the cane handle...once an open end of the foam is on the tip....slide and TWIST the foam tube onto the handle of your cane....use both hands, and move your wrists with a constant motion at the same time, and the cover should slide on even if you have little hand strength, without the need to heat it or anything else. This brand is thick enough that it doesn't tear as you slide it on the handle. It can also be cut to size if you measure your cane first but I used it as is- and was able to apply it without any added steps. If you need a lighter cane and cant use wood, this handle cover will have your old one back in working order in almost no time, and is not difficult to apply.5soft, quietI used this on another can than pictured because my cane is continually falling onto the floor or window ledges and making dents and noisy. This solves that problem. People who design canes should hav to use one on a daily basis to know the problems.5Comfortable handleI bought this foam handle to slip onto a wooden cane.. Following some of the comments, I used WD40 to get it to slip onto the handle. Nope! It went on only 2/3rds of the way. But, it did cover the handle part. Had to cut off the 2 1/2" inches that didn't slip on. Feels good on my cane and is very comfortable. I suspect this foam handle is meant for a metal cane.4How I Put This Handle On My CaneIt took me less than 5 minutes to put this handle on my cane. I used "Ultra Ajax Super Degreaser," a dish-washing liquid I had around the house. I filled the handle with the soap and also rubbed a light coating on the cane. No struggle whatever to get it on, in sharp contrast to the wrestling other customers reported. One caveat: The process is messy, so I put down a few sheets of newspaper before starting. If I thought far enough ahead I suppose I could have salvaged the liquid that spilled out.5Wow, durable yet comfortable.Wow I am really impressed at the quality of this. All the other one's I have had rip, tear, so easily. This one is just the perfect mix of comfort yet durable. I highly recommend those with carpal tunnel syndrome to try, which I have and this works well. I use my cane as an extension of my arm and so this thing see's more action than just my hand holding it. I use it to pull things closer to me, sometimes push things away from me. I use it to grab my shoes, pull some car parts across concrete, not that I can do much mechanical work anymore but I am going to buy 2 more of them right now for my other canes around the house as well. Again I highly advise these.5quality product.I can only rate the quality of the foam 5 stars as I bought and have been using these to customize the pull up bar grips on my home gym. If you own the half rack from dicks sporting goods store a pair of these strategically cut in halves will fit onto the pull up bar handles and look 100% as if they were equipped that way from the factory. Be sure to locate the finished (beveled) ends toward the front by pushing on the cut ends first. I found that simply sprinkling a couple drops of water inside them and on the handle bars made it that much easier to force fit in place. I've been using them for over a year now and they have held up perfectly.5Cane Foam Grip replacement...Have a need to replace a Walking Cane Foam Grip ? If so, this is the item to do it with. Very soft and textured and easy to put on. The length is adequate to match your grip area. Very cushiony to provide extra softness when using it.4Good value. Use soap.I got this to replace the grip on a relative's aluminum cane that the original grip had been deteriorating and coming apart. I initially tried using just water to help slide the new grip on but it would only go about half way on before it would get stuck. I then poured water and dish soap on the inside of the grip before I tried installing it and the new grip slid right on! However, due to the cane handle having a very sharp curve, it was necessary to twist the new grip as I put it on for it to slide all the way around the curve. Also, I evidently used a little too much dish soap as it quite soggy for a while and I had to let it dry out for a day.It has now been close to a month and so far so good for a cane that gets used daily. I will by again when needed.4Hard to find replacement cane gripMy mom's cane grip needed to be replaced but we couldn't find one anywhere!! I decided to check Amazon because they have EVERYTHING. Sure enough, we got it and my mom couldn't be happier. It is kind of hard to put it on the cane so I sprayed it lightly with Pam cooking spray and wiped it, then the new grip went on so much easier. Now I have to order a couple more because her friends' canes also need new hand grips and they can't find replacements. The new one is thicker and has more cushioning than the original cane had, so it'll last longer.5
