Christmas PresentMy boyfriend LOVES to put Hershey's Chocolate Syrup on his ice cream. We go through quite a bit so I purchased this as a gag gift for Christmas. It's actually pretty practical since I know it'll get used!As the other reviews state, it does NOT come with a pump - although it definitely should. We did NOT purchase a pump for it either. We simply just pour it out the top which can get a little messy. Other than that, it's 7 lbs of chocolate syrup goodness!5How have I never known about low calorie chocolate sauce ...How have I never known about low calorie chocolate sauce. My husband mixes a little bit into his egg whites in the morning, and I just dump it into my mouth.5Quality product, difficult to deal with, and more expensive than I expected.Three stars because it is quality Hershey's syrup, but without the pump it is a mess to handle this quantity at home. We tried filling our own smaller bottles with a funnel and it wasn't worth the mess. If I had bought the pump it would rate 5 stars, but between that and I found out this was more expensive than buying the 24oz bottles of the same syrup at the discount store for $2 each. So not as great a value.3Not bad, just have to get used to itBought this to help cut down on sugar. Have a different taste. Not bad, just have to get used to it. I used to get it in our local grocery store but found it cheaper here. Since then the price here has gone up and I ve done back to getting it locally. Great for chocolate milk and on ice cream.4Same taste lousy packagingPackaging can not be recycled in my area. I understand the new packaging from a transportation and storage perspective but end of life disposal was given no thought. Maybe consider aseptic cartons? Those are recyclable most places. Product taste has. It changed and ingredients match old canned version.3Not perfect, yet a good alternative for Diabetics.It can be difficult to find sugar-free alternatives that taste decent and provide for those sweetness cravings. This chocolate syrup has helped the diabetic in the family to enjoy the flavors they missed. It also has helped the rest of us cut down on too much sugar.We use it all the time, so ordering a bulk quantity is very convenient for us. However, if you have never tried it before, I would recommend buying one bottle to make sure you like it. Taste is different for everyone, and while there are similarities across the board, it is up to personal preference.If you are used to regular syrup, there are some notable differences other than sugar:First, it is not as thick, so a slight squeeze is all that is needed to prevent a possible mess. The sugar-free is definitely a bit more watery, but something to which we have become accustomed.Secondly, the sugar-free syrup does not stay mixed as well as the regular kind. If you make you hot chocolate and let it sit, little blobs can form. For us, this is not a huge deal as you just stir it up again.Third, it does have a slightly bitter aftertaste and more of a tanginess. When using in milk for hot chocolate I do not even notice it, but when used over ice cream, the slight tang is a bit more pronounced.Fourth, a little goes further. With the regular syrup, it took a bit more to get that sweet flavor; the sugar-free takes only a little squeeze to add sweetness.Despite the differences, we will continue to use the Hershey Sugar-Free Chocolate Syrup. For some members of our family, there are few other alternatives due to diabetes. For the rest of us,it helps cut-back on sugar. Some sugar-free alternatives can lead to nasty upset stomachs, yet the sweetener used in this syrup has never caused any stomach or digestive issue.Maybe I have just gotten used to it, but I like this syrup. I would not drink it straight, yet it makes a pretty good cup of hot chocolate and is not bad over ice cream. More importantly, it has allowed our diabetic to enjoy one of her favorite drinks again...hot chocolate on a cold day.4Bad tasteAbsolutely gross. Don t buy this.1Perfect healthy chocolate sauceIn an attempt to cut down on sugar, I bought this chocolate sauce- and I am so glad I did!This sugar free syrup tastes almost exactly like the normal kind. It is a tad less sweet and has a hint of an artificial sweetener flavor, but when mixed with ice cream, a milkshake, or on bread, it tastes awesome.I use it on the above vehicles as well as on pancakes and cookies.I would highly recommend buying this sauce.5Does Not Dissolve in Cold Milk!!!When I tried to stir this syrup in a glass of cold milk, it did not dissolve, but sunk to the bottom of the glass, with some undissolved remnants floating in the milk. The only solution to the problem was to warm the milk in a microwave. Only when I did that did this stuff dissolve. Not worth the trouble to return. I will simply warm the milk anytime I use this chocolate syrup.It will take me a long time to use the entire supply of six, but when I do, rest assured I will not buy this product again. If do I buy anymore, it will probably be Fox's U-Bet.I doubt if it makes a difference, but I used Almond Milk, for which I saw no warnings on the syrup container that that the syrup would not dissolve.1Doesn't taste as sweet and good as the one with sugarDoesn't taste as sweet and good as the one with sugar, and it is kind of bitter to the taste, but if you don't want sugar it is very adequate for a chocolate taste. I use it in slim shakes to flavor with reduction in calories. Surprised not carried in many grocery stores.5
