The smell has calm down somewhat. I've rinsed it off and spray it with ...Hi,I bought the XL shoulder wrap from Amazon. The smell is something terrible. I've rinsed it off and spray it with Scuba diving wet suit deodorizer. I'm am probably going home to do it again. Is there anything else I can do? I've now had a chance to wear it and while it's not the most comfortable thing I've ever wore, it's doing the job. The smell after two rinses adn sprays is now bearable and I plan on washing again with clothes washing detergent should go down some more. If it does and becomes more comfortable I'll change my score again. This time I went from a 2 to a 3.***** I ve now had it for several weeks and I have to admit it has been a God send. I ve had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders, one of them twice. I have gotten up in the middle of the night with my shoulders throbbing. More pain medicine, muscle relaxers and now this brace. Tonight for the first time I ve put it on one shoulder for 20-30 minutes and then because I got two extra ice packs the other for 20 minutes. Feels nice 5As far as construction and ease of use this is the best of the top 3-4 choices available on AmazonOk, not here to say this healed my shoulder because I just bought it but here's some quick advice. There is a small dead space between the front and back pack that is right around the AC joint. Spend just a little more time icing and only use one side at a time. That is, use the front ice pack for 10-15 minutes and then use the back ice pack. You can move this a few inches back when icing the front and a few inches forward when icing the back and you'll absolutely freeze your entire shoulder :) I tried using both at the same time and it didn't quite do it.As far as construction and ease of use this is the best of the top 3-4 choices available on Amazon. It's worth the extra money (I've used quite a few of these). You put it on and it's locked in place! 5Great for shoulder injuries.This wrap has been a great help in icing my recent rotator cuff injury. One note, the gel pack covers are thin and one of mine developed a smalltear after a few uses. I patched it with duct tape and it hasn't affected performance. As other reviewers noted, for large busted women order thelarger size. I wish the packs provided more coverage for the very top of the shoulder, but this is a small complaint. I used ice and heat packs before the surgery and needed lots of ice for weeks after the surgery. Over the long time of my shoulder problems, I've tried several approaches to securing a wrap to this awkward part of the body. This wrap is the best I've found. It's not perfect, though. It is quite bulky and it can be difficult to position it "just right". Nevertheless, it is the best I've found. The two separate pockets for ice/heat packs is a great design feature and the gel packs that come with it work very well. 4Thanks for inventing this great shoulder wrap!I have a frozen should and have been using this shoulder wrap for almost two months. I use heat packs before my stretching exercises and ice packs after the stretch outs. I also use the ice packs several times a day as a treatment. I got a double set of active packs, so I keep one set in the freezer and the other set I heat it up in the microwave together with water in a bigger pan. That way I don't need to wait to utilize them. I also think the packs will last longer by not going back and forth from ice cold to very hot.The shoulder wrap is pretty snug when using the straps to tighten it. It covers the whole shoulder. Since it has two separate pockets, one for each pack, it leaves a small thin area on top of the shoulder that is not covered with the packs. I usually twist the shoulder wrap a little when needed, so the ice or heat pack also can cover that area.I had a problem with one of the sides of the shoulder wrap, where the stitches felt apart after few weeks. I contacted seller, who immediately gave me a brand new one. I am really satisfied with how this shoulder wrap works and I have used it a lot! 5Significant pain reduction and easy to useLove how this wrap fits so well and is easy to put on. I have a SLAP tear and adhesive capsulitis in my shoulder. Incredibly painful. I was taking way too many OTC pain relievers so I decided to try icing with this wrap. What a difference it made. Just by using it 3 times per day I was able to reduce daily pain pills from 15 to 4. I also purchased the elbow wrap and I'm able to continue working at my computer wearing both wraps. I would give it 5 stars except I don't like having to put the packs in a dish of water to microwave them in order to apply heat. I would prefer that they were microwave ready. Great product otherwise. 4not that adjustableYes is it pricey, especially compared to others out on the market. But, I like most of the other products in this line particularly how the hot/cold packs are mostly interchangeable.However, I take issue with the arm hole that is adjustable to a point. I have 18" arms and I find it a tight fit. Instead of the two sides being connected with a velcro strap to connect the sides, this product has a closed hole with stiff neoprene and velcro tighteners. 3Not a good wrap for a womanI'm a woman, 145 pounds, 5" 8"" with medium size bones/frame and while I ordered a small, I could not adjust the shoulder wrap so it fit snugly around my arm and shoulder. Thus, I couldn't get the degree of coldness I needed on my ligaments/muscles that were sore/strained. The cold packs that came with the wrap are soft and flexible and stay very cold for 20 minutes or longer so I put a towel on my shoulder and placed one of the cold packs directly on my sore shoulder. However, $60 is a lot to pay for a cold pack. This wrap may fit males fine but I don't think that it's a good option for a woman. 2Unless you 6'6 and 300lbs, it is too big.Ice packs are great. They hold their cold well. That is the only positive.I am not a small man, I have a 46" chest. The wrap would fit Andre the Giant far better than me. It is enormous, and makes a big cold shell around your shoulder that cools things slightly, but because it fits so poorly there is no contact between the sleeve and your skin, thus the ice pack is too far away to actually do the job. If the fabric wasn't oversized, and the adjustment straps weren't designed to crumple the ice pack.... It is just a poorly designed product all the way around. I will be returning. 1
